St. Edmundsbury Cathedral released details of a composition competition with a text drawn from the martyrdom of Edmund. My composition, for SATB, sets the text by Frances Ward in full and is submitted for consideration.

After completion of Beauty and Joy: The Christian Nature of Music, my compositional style started to develop. Instead of wondering what music is and how my new compositions reveal something about me, I focused on music as a proclamation of worth. This considerably changed my approach to composition from a vague, searching for answers towards a statement of ideas with confidence. This piece was the first step on that road.

My Man Godfrey, Student Film Score Composition from 2006
For my final Film Music portfolio, I had free choice to score anything. I chose a section of My Man Godfrey which could stand scoring, although such a great film hardly needed it (the print below is not a good transfer - please don't let it put you off watching the original).
